The pieces

Do all the heads really fit all the bodies?

Within a size, yes. Every small piece shares one fitting and every large piece shares another, so a chick's head goes on a lamb and a fox's head goes on a bear. Small heads do not fit large bodies — the magnet is in a different place and the proportions would be absurd.

How strong is the magnet?

Strong enough that a piece can be picked up by the head, weak enough that a three-year-old can pull it apart without help. It is roughly the resistance of a fridge magnet on a steel door.

Which size is which?

Small pieces run about 2.4 to 3.5 inches; large pieces run about 4.3 to 5.5 inches. Every product page states the exact height or length.

Is the wood treated with anything I should know about?

Clear plant-based oil, and water-based paint on the few coloured parts. No lacquer, no solvent-based finish. The finishes meet EN 71-3 and ASTM F963 limits for migration of elements.

Why is mine a different colour from the photo?

Because it is wood. Grain and tone vary from blank to blank, and oil brings that out rather than hiding it. Photographs show one real piece, but yours will not be identical to it.

Age and safety

What age are these for?

From 3 years. Not suitable for children under 3, because every piece contains magnets.

Why do the magnets matter that much?

A swallowed magnet is a medical problem; two swallowed magnets can attract each other through the gut wall and cause serious injury. Our magnets are recessed and glued and we test pull strength on every batch, but no amount of testing makes a magnet safe to swallow. If you think a magnet has been swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Can they go in a bath?

No. Water gets into the magnet seats and the join never sits flush again.

Where do you ship?

Worldwide. United States orders are $4.95 standard, free over $75, or $14.95 express. Everywhere else is $12.95 standard or $29.95 express. Rates are shown again at checkout before you pay.

How long does it take?

Orders leave within 1–2 business days. United States: 3–6 business days standard, 1–3 express. Rest of world: 8–14 business days standard, 4–7 express. Customs can add time we cannot predict.

Will I pay duty?

Possibly, depending on your country. Any import duty or tax is charged by your own customs authority and is not included in our prices.

Can I change or cancel an order?

If it has not shipped, yes — email us with the order number and we will sort it. Once it is with the carrier we cannot recall it, but you can return it.
