Jorlaxis is a trading name of U INTEGRITY CO., LIMITED, Hong Kong. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use jorlaxis.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. We are the data controller.

What we collect

When you order: your name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number if you give one, and what you bought.
Payment: the last four digits and card brand only. Full card numbers go straight to the payment processor and are never stored on our systems or visible to anyone at Jorlaxis.
When you email us: your email address and whatever you write to us.
Automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and referring site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Why we use it

To take payment, pack your order and get it to you.
To send order confirmations, dispatch notices and tracking.
To answer your emails and handle returns, replacements and refunds.
To detect and prevent fraud.
To keep the records that tax and company law require us to keep.
To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.

Our lawful bases

Performance of a contract for order processing and delivery; legitimate interests for fraud prevention, site security and basic analytics; legal obligation for tax and accounting records; consent for non-essential cookies and for marketing email, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

Only with organisations that need it to do their job for us:

Shopify Inc., which hosts this store and processes orders.
Payment processors, who handle the transaction.
Our fulfilment partner and the carriers who deliver your parcel.
Email and analytics providers.
Professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.

International transfers

We operate from Hong Kong and our service providers are in several countries, so your information may be transferred outside your own. Where it leaves the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Order and transaction records are kept for seven years, which is what tax and company law require. Email correspondence is kept for three years. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept in aggregate form.

Cookies

Essential cookies keep your cart and session working and cannot be switched off without breaking the store. Analytics cookies tell us, anonymously, which pages are used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the store will still work, but your cart may not persist between visits.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent.

To exercise any of these, email info@jorlaxis.com. We reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not hand your data to someone else.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area and you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

Marketing email

We only send marketing email to people who have asked for it. Every message carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. Order confirmations and dispatch notices are not marketing and are sent regardless.

Children

This store is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over TLS throughout and our checkout runs on Shopify, which is certified PCI DSS Level 1. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not store card numbers and we limit access to order data to the people who need it.
